Normal, abnormal and emergency
- Explain how abnormal and emergency procedures differ from normal ones.
- Know why emergency actions are trained, not just read.
Normal procedures cover every flight: preflight, launch, landing, postflight. Abnormal procedures cover problems that need attention but aren't immediately dangerous — a compass warning before takeoff, a weak GPS signal on the ground. Emergency procedures cover situations where safety is at immediate risk — a lost control link in flight, a battery fire.
In an emergency there may be no time to read. That's why the first few actions are trained until they're automatic, and the written checklist follows to make sure nothing else was missed once the aircraft is under control.
PreFlighted teaches how emergency checklists are structured. The actual responses for an aircraft come from its manufacturer's manual and your instructor — never from a practice scenario.
